Luxury Sports Sedans

This page contains some of the fastest luxury sedans in the world. Leading the pack is the BMW 540i Sport, a true sports sedan from the leading maker of such automobiles. Don't let the unassuming looks fool you; it will blow pass you on any road, able to go from zero to sixty in a sizzling 5.6 seconds. I'm still waiting for a ride from Alex (Hey Chief!), who just recently bought one such black beauty. A direct competitor of the BMW is the Lexus GS400, named Motor Trend's Import Car of the Year for 1997. In comparison to the BMW 540i, the interior of the GS400 is roomier and cushier, but despite the added comfort and the numerous luxury amenities (it IS supposed to be a luxury sedan...), it is still able to race from zero to sixty in 5.7 seconds, just slightly slower than the BMW. In comparison to these two fine sedans, the Jaguar has comparable performance, although at a steeper price. However, faster than all of these is the Brabus modified Mercedes E sedan, equipped with a V12 that accelerates the car from zero to sixty in a world-class time of 4.8 seconds. What's even more amazing is that it accomplishes this as an AUTOMATIC! This Mercedes also cranks out an astounding 582 horsepowers, and with a top speed of 206 MPH, it's faster than most of the exotics in these pages.
