Clickers

 
 

A Turning Technologies-compatible clicker device is required for Chem 14D. These will be used for non-graded ‘clicker quizzes’, which will take place during lectures.


Note: you are only eligible for participation points

(extra credit) if you have a registered clicker device.

Step 1: Obtain / Setup a Clicker Device


There are several options available:


A) Purchase a Turning Point ResponseCard RF LCD from the UCLA Bookstore ($43). Ask about their return policy for the end of the quarter, as they often will buy-back the clicker for ~50% purchase price.


B) Purchase a Turning Point ResponseCard online ($30-$43, depending on model).  To purchase online, click here, enter ‘oMU9’ as the school code, and follow the instructions.


C) Purchase an annual license ($15), which allows you to use your iPhone or Blackberry as your clicker device.  Click here for detailed setup instructions.

Step 2: Register your Clicker Device


Click here and follow the instructions. You will be asked to enter a few things...


Device ID: Found on back of device, or if using smartphone, will be given to you when you are setting up your handheld device.

Note: To change the ‘channel’ setting on your clicker, press the channel button, type in ‘41’, press the channel button again, and then press 1.



Having clicker wifi problems? Try connecting to any of these non-password protected networks in CS 50: (a) chemwlan, (b) chemwlan-5g, (c) UCLA-web.  You can also try (d) UCLA-WIFI, although you may be prompted to login with your UCLA username/password.
