         Lecturer in Organic Chemistry

  Applications are invited for the tenured position of Lecturer in
 Organic Chemistry in the   Department of Chemistry from
 February 1997.  It is planned to appoint a candidate with interests
 within the mainstream of organic chemistry.  The minimum qualification
  on appointment is the Ph.D. degree or equivalent.  All applicants
 should have a proven research record and relevant post-doctoral
 experience and must provide adequate evidence of their ability
 to teach courses at all levels.   The Department offers a full programme
 of lecture courses for the degrees of B.Sc., B.Sc.(Hons) and M.Sc. in
 Chemistry and contributes  to courses in Biochemistry in
 conjunction with other Departments.   In addition there is a
 vigorous research programme leading to the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees.

  The salary for Lecturers is on a scale from NZ$42,000 to NZ$52,000
  per annum.
