SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Coffee breaks for the morning and afternoon sessions will be provided: coffee, tea, lemonade, cookies.

Welcoming reception: Sunday, July 24. This will give you the opportunity to register and hang out with the attendees. There will be an inaugural talk. Cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres will be served.
This event is included upon registering to the conference.

Posters: There will be one session on Wednesday, July 27. Refreshments will be provided.

Conference Banquet: Will be held at the UCLA Covel Commons on Thursday, July 28. The cost to attend is $75 USD.


Excursion: Cost = 15.00 USD. Wednesday July 27th, 1:30pm-5:30pm. The excursion will consist of a trip to the Getty Conservation Institute (GCI), part of the Getty Center in Brentwood. (Click here for other events going on at the Getty).

1:30 pm: Shuttle departs.

2:00 pm: We will start by a general introduction to the work conducted in the GCI.s science laboratories (15 min.).

2:15 pm: We will break up into groups of 20 to visit four of the major research areas of GCI Science (approx. 20 min. each tour):

1) Museum Research Lab

2) Analytical Technologies

3) Environmental Studies

4) Building Materials

The visit to the GCI will take approximately 1.5 hours, allowing time for questions. After the tour, guests can explore the galleries at the Getty Museum at their own pace.

Please regroup no later than 5:20 pm, as the buses will be leaving at exactly 5:30pm.
