Electronic Device Policies

Pagers, cellular phones, CD players, iPods, and similar devices: Please turn these off during lecture, so that they will not disrupt the class if they go off. These devices are expressly forbidden during an exam. (If you need a clock get a watch that does not have a calculator.) If you are caught in an act of academic dishonesty using one of these devices, you will receive a zero for the exam, and may be subject to further disciplinary action. Review the Academic Dishonesty policy.

Calculators or similar computing devices (including watches with calculators, electronic address books, palm pilots, PDAs, laptop computers, and similar devices): These devices may not be used in any form, not even as a clock. You may use a cell phone as an exam clock as long as the phone remains closed.

Recording of lectures: You may record any Hardinger lecture, review sessions, etc., given by the instructor. This recording may be for your personal use only.  It may not be reproduced, transcribed, or distributed in any way without written consent of the instructor (just like Major League Baseball).  Some lectures have already been recorded for you.

Livescribe: You may use the Livescribe device in class, and share the results with anyone, as long as no money changes hands. If you want to publish your Livescribe notes, please contact the instructor.
