The UCLA General Chemistry Major

The General Chemistry major is intended for students who wish to acquire considerable background in chemistry in preparation for careers outside chemistry. It may be appropriate for students who plan careers in environmental science, patent law, public health, teaching with an emphasis on science, or other career paths. The General Chemistry major is NOT a shortcut to early graduation or a way to avoid the intellectual challenge presented by upper division chemistry courses. The General Chemistry major is usually NOT SUITABLE for students interested in medical or related professional schools.
