Gates of Hell, a pencil sketch of Rodin's "Gates of Hell" by Luis Campos. The Drawing takes the perspective where the historically preeminent figure, the male, is no longer the central theme but yet remains dominant. Simultaneously, more attention is moving to the feminine, who unfortunately has not quite yet reached the point of equality.
Twenty-seven summers ago, Luis M. Campos was born in Mexico's Perla Tapatia. At the age of eleven, he moved to Los Angeles where he began his Californian public education: Compton USD, LAUSD, CSU and UC. At UCLA, he is a joint graduate student in the labs of Professors Garcia-Garibay and Houk in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Art has been a dimly-lit passion that flares occasionally since Luis' childhood. In his spare time, he enjoys painting, chalk sketching and photography.
