When I went to Churchill in November 1994, a very nice meal was served on the way to Churchill, but not on the way back. The food was quite good, not at all like the inedible shit served by most U.S. carriers. In polar bear season, the flight will be totally full. Count on it. Fares, as I recall, are $666 RT, but down to $333 with two weeks notice.
204/778-6471 phone. I know they fly to Churchill on a regular basis, but I don't have any additional information. Calm Air is one of two options for getting there by air. I have not flown this airline, and am therefore unqualified to judge them. All I know is that it is an airline with good reputation that flies to Churchill and other points north.
I would strongly advise you fly to Winnipeg via Air Canada. Personally, I have had bad experiences on at least one U.S. carrier flying there. If you come from the west, try to get a flight that does its stopover in Calgary. It is a very pleasant airport. Revised 11/30/96
