Simulation Conditions:

Liquid Crystal/Flexible Polymer Mixture for Model 0



We run the program named elsie, created by S.A. Langer, to determine how phase ordering affects a short liquid-crystal/long flexible polymer mixture undergoing phase separation.

Example on how to read the following lists:

	A1: 	  phi0=0.76 	 T=1.08 (A1p) 

A1 refers to the suffix of files related to this run.
phi0=0.76 is the initial phi value.
T=1.08 is the temperature to which the system is quenched.
A1p is a run with similar initial conditions as that of A1. The difference is that for A1p we set the orientational order parameter to zero and suppress any evolution in this order parameter. Thus, our free energy reduces to the Flory-Huggins free energy. The mixture now consists of flexible polymer chains in an isotropic solvent.

The system has a lattice size of 100x100 (unless noted otherwise) and always begins as an isotropic, homogeneous mixture. Snapshots of many of these runs can be viewed. Also, we examine four particular quenches.
