1. Sample preparation: In a GC vial, dissolve 1-2 mg of the sample in ~1 mL of diethyl ether. Make sure that the sample does not contain any solids or shows a phase separation.

2. Vial Label: The vial has a code on it. Please make sure to not erase or change it.

3. Submission: Place the vial in the sample holder tray and sign it in with your name and code number.

4. From this point on the instrumentation TA and/or instructor will do the rest.

5. The spectrum can usually be picked up during the office hour of the next day.
