Prospective players should go through the information on the web site to get familiar with the world and the types of creatures inhabiting it. I will then take their ideas. that they email me. I'd like a rough idea of what they seek to play, some idea of what they can do and where they fit to the world, a loose physical description. In particular I'd like the following:

Send the information to: iko@chem.ucla.edu
If the character is new (just joining the Order) then it is important to determine why they are being asked. They can use James (see the character section) to connect themselves to the Order.
I currently have a few restrictions for new characters. New characters should be new to the Order or someone who is coming out of retirement, or some such. This is to not interfere with the current story lines. Also I'd like characters not to overlap another. For example we have a Muse, so Greek characters are less likely to be accepted. Lastly if you are interested in play a mythic you should not take a major player in a Pantheon (Zeus, Odin, Raiden, Set, Coyote, etc). More obsure the better.
I may modify the idea or not as I see fit (characters have to fit into the world). Then I will send them an expanded version of the PlayerIntroGen. This version will contain more information specific to the character. I.d like the player then generate a more complete history of the character and a description. The description should have some measure of attributes and skills that are notable for the character (high strength, poor memory, ugly, runs fast, etc). I will then generate a pseudo character sheet for the player. It will give them some idea what the character can do in the game world.
In general (and I can really think of no exceptions) the following powers are forbidden to PC: Precognition, Retro-cognition, and full-blown telepathy. These are detective and mystery stories, powers like that would ruin the story.
Magic: If you are planning on slinging magic in any form, tell me so I can send you the primer. To cast many very potent spells will require lots of dedication (the character may not be able to do much else. although that is all they may need). However to cast a select few spells well or cast many weak spells takes much less time and energy to learn.
Character growth: Some players are interested in character development. If you have an idea of where your character is going, please include that. I'll do my best to give them a situation to allow growth and development.
