Jason Kidd's Jersey is retired by University of California on February 14, 2004

The greatest basketball player ever to put on a Cal uniform, 7-time NBA All-Star, 5-time First Team all-NBA, and one of the greatest point guard ever to play the game of basketball, Jason Kidd had his jersey retired by Cal before the game against Stanford. Cal could really use his skill against Stanford on that day, losing the game 69-58. [picture taken from beartracks.net]

Avenging the overtime loss to UCLA from previous year, Cal racked up 550 yards of total offense to defeat the Bruins 45-28, while keeping the Rose Bowl hope alive under 3rd year coach Jeff Tedford, who has rapidly transformed Cal into a national football power. Escapeville

Speical team miscues and soft defense in the 1st half gave the Bears a major scare agasint Oregon. In the end, JJ Arrington was his usual self, gaining 188 yards for his 8th straight 100-yard game and averaging over 7 yards per carry. Cal pulled out 28-27, keeping the Rose Bowl hope alive. Pictured is JJ Arrington celebrating after scoring a touchdown.

After dominating arch rival Stanford with 307 rushing yards, a day when JJ Arrington broke Cal's single season rushing record, and Geoff McArthur broke Cal's all-time reception record, the Cal fans are smelling the Roses. Domination

The Big Game on November 19, 2005

Cal defense was the reason for the 27-3 domination over Stanford for Cal's 4th straight victory in the Big Game, registering 9 sacks, but Steve Levy was the story. The opening day No. 3 quarterback, junior Levy made his first start in the Big Game, guiding California to yet another Big Game domination. Yes, we still have the Axe.
