The California Golden Bears vs. The UCLA Bruins:

Snatching Defeat From the Jaws of Victory

From the perspective of a Californian, this is the worst heartbreaking loss I have ever witnessed. For 58 out of 60 minutes, Cal has controlled the pace of the game. Cal's All-American offensive line was dominating the overmatched UCLA's defensive line all day long, opening running lane for two 100-yard rushers (Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett) and allowing freshman wide receiver DeSean Jackson another 100-yard game. Overall, Cal offense has gained 27 first downs comparing to UCLA's 17, 330 rushing yards on 41 carries (8 yards per rush) comparing to UCLA's 170, and 545 total offensive yards comparing to UCLA's 395. Cal also had over 9-minute advantage in time of possession. However, Cal's special team faltered on the fateful day, who not only allowed UCLA's Maurice Drew to return 3 punts for 162 yards including a touchdown, but also had only 10 men on the field when UCLA's Jarrad Page rumbled 40 yards on a 4th-and-2 fake punt when Cal had a 40-28 lead with 10 minutes left in the game.
Cal eventually lost 47-40.
