Academic and Career Goals/Fun Fact:

I plan to work at a pharma company for a year before pursuing either a Pharm.D. or Ph.D. Ultimately, I would like to work in the biotech industry. Fun fact: I play bass clarinet in the UCLA Wind Ensemble and enjoy exercise and songwriting!

Academic and Career Goals/Fun Fact:

Academically, I love learning about chemistry, particularly organic chemistry. My career goal is to have a pharmacy career either in a community or hospital setting. I greatly enjoy talking to others; thus, I would love to work in a setting with much patient interaction. After settling into a pharmaceutical career, I want to continuously help as many people as I can, dedicating myself to improving others’ health both medicinally as well as naturally. With these goals, I hope to one day contribute back to my community and create an impact in the field by providing quality care via advanced pharmaceutical technologies. As the internal vice president of SMACS, I am looking forward to pursue my interest of chemistry that will allow me to make a difference and further cultivate knowledge.

I hope to pursue a graduate degree and career in biomedical chemistry research. I'm passionate about bringing science education to the general public, and especially about fostering interest in the sciences in younger children. As EVP I will work to fulfill this passion with our outreach events within UCLA and beyond. I also enjoy creative writing, and am part of The Writer's Den where we volunteer to teach creative writing to students around LA.

I came to UCLA as a chemistry major, and though I've ultimately decided to pursue my other interests, I still have a strong fondness for chemistry and everybody I've met through SMACS. I currently work part-time for a start-up children's publishing company that focuses on empowering children's intellectual pursuits through novels that integrate STEM ideas.

I used to be a Biochemistry major, but I realized that I might not like the related careers, so I swithched to Business-Economics. But I still like Chemistry, and most importantly, I love the people in SMACS. This year I will take the treasurer's position and make my own contribution to this wonderful club.

Academic and Career Goals:

I received my B.Sc. in chemistry from University of California, Santa Cruz in 2015. I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in chemistry at University of California, Los Angeles. My research interests are materials science and nanotechnology. In my spare time, I enjoy reading novels, writing on my blog, playing guitar and exploring LA.
